Improvements to Repository and Branch selection

This release improved performance and UI for Repository or Branch selection, and updated the Getting Started with Editing and Getting Started: Setting up your Organization guides.

It also addressed an issue affecting collaborative editing in an Editing Interface.

Features & Improvements#

  • Improved the performance and UI for selecting a Repository or Branch.
    • Improved performance for branching and changing branches by converting these areas to Lit.
    • Update the Project Main Branch field to a dropdown populated by branch names, rather than a text field.
    • Reordered fields so Allow all branching now appears below Main Branch on the Repository section of the Project Settings tab.
    • Sites and Projects now show an inline error toast with a link to your Git Provider when a Repository has no branches.
    • The Submit button on the Change branch modal is now disabled when no branches are available, or the selection matches the current branch.
    • Branch selection now defaults to your Repository's default branch.
    • CloudCannon will auto-select your Git Provider when creating a new Site, Project, or updating Syncing, if you have only authorized one provider.
    • Several other UX and UI changes.
  • The Tour your new Site step in the Getting Started with Editing guide now highlights your best Collection for demonstrating WYSIWYG editing during onboarding.
  • Simplified the Getting Started: Setting up your Organization guide.

Fixes#

  • Fixed an issue where, in some cases, you could not see another user's unsaved changes when collaborating in an Editing Interface, or update the file after using the Switch to Editing button.
